The goal of the “Analysis of energy resource production possibilities within Latvian territorial waters and the EEZ” project is to undertake a sizable analysis of renewable energy resources (hereinafter referred to in the text as RER) within Latvian territorial waters to encourage and make the production of wind and wave energy easier.

Hydrogen (H2) is a clean, renewable source of energy that ensures environmentally friendly and sustainable socioeconomic development. Hydrogen has one of the highest energy densities (122 kJ/g) among energy carriers, and it is used in both the energy and industrial sectors.

The specific goal of the project is to develop a new chemical reactor to produce calcium carbonate from suitable minerals and biomass available in Latvia, and purification of hydrogen obtained as a residual production of the reaction to produce a 99.99% membrane.
